Janmitra is a Public Grievance Redressal System which provides multiple channels for a citizen to file grievances or provide feedback through the helpline (by a phone call) or through a website or through their mobiles, or a postal complaint.
You can also file complaints under Karnataka Services Guarantee Act (KGSA) in Jan Mitra.
Grievances may be lodged through any of the following channels
1)
Telephone: File complaints by dialing into Janmitra Citizen Care helpline number
081-52240582. Citizens need to give basic information for registration.
2)
Web : File complaints online on this portal with provisions to attach supporting documents, photographs and other media files.

3)
Mobile Phone: File Complaint using a GPRS/3G mobile phone. Complaints will be filed using mobile software which is installed on the phone after
mobile registration . The complaint may be accompanied with supporting audio, photo, video and text files, captured using the mobile software
4)
Post : File complaints by post, addressed to Janmitra Citizen Care. Basic details of complainant is essential for registration.
Janmitra supports a comprehensive online complaint filing system. A web complaint may be filed by filling up an online form, detailing the grievance. Any supporting documents, photographs, videos or other media files may be attached with the complaint to substantiate the matter.
To avoid Anonymous or pseudonymous complaints an online registration is required to file a web complaint. To file a web complaint, an online registration is required. Upon registration, A unique login and password will be sent to your email address. You need to login into
Citizen Login page to file a complaint. Additionally, the login
also helps you to keep track of all your complaints and the status of each complaint.

Janmitra supports a state-of-the-art system to file complaints using GPRS/3G mobile phones.
You need to register your mobile number and install a mobile software to file complaints. Upon registration you will receive the login details through SMS/email along with a link to download the mobile software. The software has to be installed on to the registered mobile phone.
The software features indexing of complaints and built-in capabilities to capture photo, video, audio or text notes and attach the same to the complaint. You may even to choose to just narrate the complaint as an audio material, recorded using the software. The complaint details are uploaded using mobile GPRS/3G.
You may access and keep track of the filed complaints and complaint status by logging into
Citizen Login page with the login and password sent through SMS/email.

You may also file a complaint through regular post. The complaint should be addressed to the Janmitra Citizen Care Helpline center. The complaint will be processed by the helpline and an acknowledgement will be sent to you. Please note that it is mandatory to mention your name and postal address. Anonymous complaints will not be acted upon.
